BRONSON SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL $1,000 BONUS MONEY
FOR KICKOFF TO SPEEDWEEKS EVENT SATURDAY

With the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered By Sunoco Race Fuels just days away at Bronson Speedway promoter Ann Young announced two additional special award sponsors have stepped forward for the Tour Type Modified race bringing the bonus program total to $2,140. Aside from the Tour Type Modifieds a full compliment of Bronson Speedway divisions will entertain race fans this Saturday evening February 18th on the high banks.

Recently Young turned some racing heads when she disclosed that both Hoosier Racing Tires as well as the Bronson Speedway mandated American Racer Tires would be allowed in the Tour Type Modified portion of the weekend. To that end Bronson Speedway in conjunction with American Racer Tire have announced a $500 bonus for the first car across the line in the 50-lapper on American Racer Tires. Teams that are going to run the American Racer Tire brand will be able to purchase their tires at Bronson Speedway @ $150 per tire.

Hoosier Racing Tires will again award the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered By Sunoco Race Fuels winner a set of Hoosier Tires. Teams that choose to race on the Hoosier brand can purchase their tires at New Smyrna Speedway and either transport them to Bronson themselves or contact Ann Young who will arrange for a truck to transport the tires for race teams.

The second special award announced Saturday comes from Russell Goodale who along with Young announced the establishing of the Cathy & Keith Goodale "Going The Distance Award". This unique and heartfelt bonus will award $500 to the highest finishing driver in the February 24th Richie Evans Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway who also competed in the Bronson Speedway race. The award is a touching tribute from the Goodale family and the sport they love so dearly and to those who compete in Modified racing.

These two awards join an extensive list of bonus money sponsors previously announced for the Tour Type Modifieds. The leader of lap 49 will earn a $490 bonus from Bill Mitchell while the winning crew chief of the race will take home $150 from Lou & Tracy Maestri in memory of Joe DiGangi. Bronson Lube has posted a $100 fast time award for the driver quickest in qualifying while Myracenews.com awards $100 to the crew chief of the quickest car in qualifying. Ace's Landscaping has posted $100 for the Hard Charger of the race this after Bobby Mason of Ace's already sponsored purse money for the race as he did in 2016. Joe Larsen's 5 Off 5 On show at Inravio.com will award $100 to the Rookie of the Race. Long Island based Sunoco Race Fuels distributor Long Island Performance has added $100 for the Hard Luck driver of the 50-lapper.

Brad LaFontaine of Northeast Race Cars & Parts will present a $200 Gift Certificate to all who start the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered By Sunoco Race Fuels.

Young announced Saturday that the race winner will pocket $2,400 including the Northeast Race Cars & Parts gift certificate. It is conceivable that if the leader of lap 49 who earns the $490 Bill Mitchell bonus leads that entire final lap to the checker the winning team will earn as much as $2,890 plus a set of Hoosier Tires, 10 gallons of Sunoco Race Fuel and the 5th starting berth in the Richie Evans Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway.

Joining the Tour Type Modifieds Saturday will be the Southern Pro Am Truck Series (SPATS), Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association, Pure Stocks, Strictly Stocks and Pro Challenge classes of Bronson Speedway.

A Friday February 17th Test & Tune session for all divisions will take place with pit gates swinging open at 12 noon and practice going green at 2:00 pm. A $10 pit pass fee will be charged for Friday.
