BRONSON SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES TOUR TYPE MODIFIED
TIRE POLICY FOR FEBRUARY 18TH EVENT

Bronson Speedway owner & promoter Ann Young announced Tuesday the tire policy that will be in effect for the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered By Sunoco Race Fuels for the Tour Type Modifieds Saturday February 18th. In what many would consider a rarity in modern day short track racing Young disclosed both American Racer and Hoosier Racing Tire brands will be permitted for the 600 horsepower machines.

"Bronson Speedway will be transitioning to the American Racer Tire brand for our 2017 season as our official track tire" Young noted but also added, "we'll have the American Racer Tire on hand for Tour Type Modified teams at $150 per tire. While we would prefer teams to use the American Racer Tire we will allow teams to compete on Hoosier Racing Tires for the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered By Sunoco Race Fuels".

Those teams who'd rather run on the Hoosier brand can either bring their own tires or order/purchase their Hoosiers at New Smyrna Speedway and notify officials at Bronson Speedway, "I will send a truck to New Smyrna and transport your Hoosier tires to Bronson for you" Ann offered. It should be noted if teams choose to run Hoosier tires they must be the same compound tire allowed at New Smyrna Speedway.

As for the teams that opt to bring their own Hoosier Racing Tires, Young put forth a stern warning, "We DO NOT ALLOW the soaking of tires and we will be very vigilant with our tire durometer. Our goal and effort is to keep this race as affordable as possible to facilitate a great turnout of Tour Type Modifieds"

To that end while most major asphalt Tour Type Modified races as well race series lock race teams into one tire brand or another the Kickoff To Speedweeks 50 Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels is indeed "thinking outside the box" in allowing the use of both the American Racer Tire and Hoosier Racing Tire in 2017.

No matter the tire brand teams chose the Tour Type Modified teams will have the opportunity to sake down their machines Friday afternoon February 17th when Bronson Speedway will host a Test & Tune session. Pit gates will open for the session at 12 noon with cars taking to the track at 2:00 pm

Bronson Speedway is located at 9950 NE State Road 24 in Archer, Florida 32618 and can be reached by dialing 352-486-4998.
