TSI HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO SPONSOR STAFFORD SPEEDWAY NASCAR
WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR RACE FOR 9th CONSECUTIVE SEASON

Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that TSI Harley-Davidson of Ellington, CT will be the title sponsor of the track’s 125-lap NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event for the ninth consecutive season. This year’s edition of the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 will take the green flag on Friday, June 3rd.

“We’re happy to be partnered with Stafford Speedway once again for a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event,” said Harry Levesque, Owner of TSI Harley-Davidson. “NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events always draw the biggest crowds to Stafford and sponsoring the race is a great way for us to be able to showcase the latest line of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Our display allows us to interact directly with the fans to tell them all about our Harley-Davidson bikes and our Jumpstart, which allows fans to actually sit on the bike, give it some throttle and go through the gears, is a one of a kind experience and we really enjoy interacting with all the race fans.”

“TSI Harley Davidson is all about tradition which we enjoy being associated with,” said Mark Arute, President/COO of Stafford. “TSI Harley-Davidson has been one of the strongest supporters of auto racing at Stafford Speedway, from sponsoring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event to supporting local drivers and interacting with the fans on the midway. We are proud to partner with TSI Harley Davidson and look forward to another exciting season.”

Last years TSI Harley Davidson 125 saw Ryan Preece take the checkered flag with a dominating performance. Preece took the lead from polesitter Doug Coby on lap-2 and he went on to lead 119 of the race’s 125 laps. Preece’s win also broke a streak of 5 races in a row where the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 winner had gone on to also win the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship. Since TSI Harley-Davidson began sponsoring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event, there has been 6 different winners in 8 races. Coby and Preece have made the TSI Harley-Davidson their own as they have been the only 2 winners of the race since 2012. Coby won the race in 2012 and 2014 while Preece took the checkered flag in 2013 and 2015. Other TSI Harley-Davidson NWMT winners have been Chuck Hossfeld in 2008, Jimmy Blewett in 2009, Bobby Santos, III in 2010, and Ronnie Silk in 2011.
