CHAMPIONS ASPHALT MODIFIED FUELED BY SUNOCO WIN ON HOME TURF
RoC Asphalt Modified Series fueled by Sunoco to Visit
Spencer Speedway Friday Night |
The
Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series fueled by
Sunoco makes its second stop of the season this Friday night, July
22, at the Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y., just east of the
city of Rochester for the Flower City 75. When the cars and stars of
the Series take to the track, Ontario, N.Y., native Daryl Lewis,
Jr., will be seeking his first Race of Champions Modified victory.
Lewis, who resides near Spencer, is a regular there on Friday nights
in the Sunoco Sportsman division, where he has captured a couple of
victories to date this season.
“We’ve been having a decent season,” offered Lewis. “Rick (Kluth)
and his 2 Qwik Chassis have been giving us a lot help this year. The
car has performed great. The team has stepped up. This is really a
family effort, but we give it our all, week in and week out and I
can’t thank everyone enough for the sacrifices they make to come and
race with us. It’s a lot of work, but we are all dedicated to it and
that’s what make this team tick.”
Lewis has finished all but one of the Series races, he’s attempted
to race at in the top-ten with three top-five finishes. He currently
sits 7th in the standings.
The Lewis family has been a staple at Spencer over the years as
Daryl’s Father, ran many years behind the wheel of a modified taking
home some victories along the way.
“It would be great if we could catch some breaks and make it to
victory lane,” continued Lewis. “That would be an honor and if we
could have it happen at Spencer in front of the entire family that
would be great. When Friday night rolls around, we will be giving it
our all to get to victory lane.”
