Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series
Fueled by Sunoco Head to Spencer Speedway |
Mike
Leaty of Williamson, N.Y., has been a staple on the Ferris Mowers
Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series for the past several years
and this Friday, the series heads to the track where Leaty cut his
teeth, Spencer Speedway just East of Rochester, N.Y.
Leaty has been a track champion at Spencer and continues to race
weekly at the track in the Sunoco Modified division on Friday
Nights.
“Spencer Speedway is home for us and it has played a huge role in my
family’s racing history,” stated Leaty. “Every time the Series heads
to Spencer it is a big night for our family, we really look forward
to it and enjoy it. Hopefully we can enjoy it with a victory. That
would truly make it special.”
While the Leaty name is synonymous with Spencer so are several
others that participate with the Race of Champions Series. The
Catalano and Lewis families also race Spencer on a weekly basis as
well as participate in the Series.
“The track has given a lot of racers a great start and a place to
race on Friday nights,” Leaty added. “The track has been a staple in
the New York racing community for so many years. All of the great
drivers in Modified history have run here at one time or another.
Friday night will be another page in the history book. We’re looking
forward to writing our own page.”
