US OPEN DRIVER REGISTRATION UNDER WAY

Short Track Management (STM) has unveiled its official website for the 26th annual US Open, to be held September 19-21, 2014 at the Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster, NY.

Fans and drivers can log on to www.lancasterusopen.com for the latest updates on the race weekend including ticket pricing, event schedule and purse information. There is also direct links to the US Open social media accounts on Facebook (facebook.com/theusopen) and Twitter (@LancasterUSOpen).

In conjunction with the website going live STM has also opened driver registration for the US Open. Teams can click on the Entry Form tab at the top of the homepage to be connected to the online registration page. Drivers can register their car for the event, reserve a pit pad and purchase discounted general admission tickets for their family, friends and sponsors.

Teams that preregister are eligible for 25 discounted general admission tickets per event day at a savings of $3.00 per ticket. The discounted price for tickets on Saturday is $17 and tickets for Sunday are just $22.

Entries have already begun to come in from teams eager to compete in Western New York’s racing finale, the US Open. Race of Champions Modified Tour rookies George Skora III and Sam Fullone have already filed their entries to race in the Tony Jankowiak & Tommy Druar Memorial 125. Former Lancaster track champion, Terry Weldy, has also entered to run in the Street Stock portion of the event.

The 26th annual US Open begins on Friday, September 19 with a practice session followed by the US Open Kickoff Party in the speedway concourse. Pit gates will open at 4 PM on Friday with practice taking place from 6-10 PM. All divisions except the Modifieds and TQ Midgets will run heats on Saturday evening followed by features for the 4-Cylinders, Legends and Sportsman. The night will be capped off by a fantastic fireworks display provided by Gisbon including a special tribute to Tony Jankowiak and Tommy Druar. Racing on Sunday will begin with Modified and TQ Midgets heats followed by the remaining features including the 125-lap main event for the Race of Champions Modified Tour.
