The
New England, "Tri-Track Open Modified Series",
consisting of Tour-Type Open Modified events at the
Lee (N.H.) USA Speedway, Star (N.H.) Speedway and
Seekonk (MA.) Speedway for the 2014 season, today
added a $10,000 point fund for the three races
thanks to a new sponsorship package from Alloy Wheel
Repair Specialists of Quincy, Mass.
Contact Alloy Wheel Repair of Quincy for all of your
specialized automotive and trucking wheel repair
needs and more. The $10,000 total is somewhat
conditional, but also a virtual certainty, based on
added contributions from series organizer James
Schaefer, The Racing Guys, t-shirt sales, and
portions of driver entry fee money donated from
Seekonk Speedway management.
This added payoff not only rewards race teams who
support all three events, which will each have cash
purse payout's exceeding $35,000 but it also adds
prestige and a bonus money payout to the driver who
is able to become the first ever, "Alloy Wheel
Repair Specialists Tri-Track Open Modified Series
Point Fund Champion."
The point fund money will pay up to a maximum of 20
positions. Only race teams who attempt to qualify in
ALL THREE events will be eligible for this bonus
money. Points will be awarded on a downward scale of
24 points to the winner and one point for 24th
place. Non-qualifiers will also earn one point and
be considered as top 20 entrants.
The champion will earn a $1,500 bonus following the
July 23rd $10,000 to win Seekonk Open Wheel
Wednesday 100-lap finale. The series' first event is
at Lee on Sunday afternoon, May 11, and the annual
SBM 125 IV will serve as the middle race for the
series on Saturday night, June 14. Both of those
events will pay a minimum of $5,000 to win. The
balance of the 20 position payoff will be paid as
follows: 2nd- $1,000, 3rd- $800, 4th- $700, 5th-
$600, 6th- $500, 7th- $475, 8th- $450, 9th- $425,
10th- $400, 11th- $375, 12th- $350, 13th- $325, 14th
to 20th- $300. If fewer than 20 teams compete in all
three races a determination will be made at that
time how to distribute the remaining money to race
teams.
Mark your calendars now for these three must see
events of the 2014 race season, pitting the best of
the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, against the best
from the Valenti Modified Racing Series, the Race of
Champions Tour, and "Outlaw" Modified drivers from
across the east coast.
