TOWN FAIR TIRE PRESENTS VMRS
ON JUNE 20th AT STAFFORD

The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to Stafford for the first of 3 appearances during the 2014 season on June 20th with the race being brought to you by Town Fair Tire. The 2014 season will mark the 16th consecutive season that Town Fair Tire has been an advertising partner at the famous Connecticut half-mile track.

Coming into the Town Fair Tire 80, The VMRS has had 5 different winners in their first five races: Keith Rocco won the season opener at Waterford, Rowan Pennink won at Monadnock, Richard Savary won at Seekonk, Tommy Barrett, Jr. won at Thompson, and Steve Masse was the most recent VMRS winner at Seekonk. The same parity has applied to Stafford when hosting a VMRS race. In the 8 VMRS races held to date at Stafford, the only repeat winner has been Barrett. Other VMRS feature winners at Stafford include Ted Christopher, Keith Rocco, Chris Pasteryak, Jon McKennedy, Steve Masse, and Ryan Preece.

A new face among the VMRS ranks this year is former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Todd Szegedy, who is driving the #85 car that was formerly driven by Louie Mechalides. Szegedy has finished each of the first five races in the top-10 and he enters the Town Fair Tire VMRS 80 as the points leader. Szegedy currently leads 2008 and 2011 VMRS champion Chris Pasteryak by 20 points with Rowan Pennink third in the standings, 23 points behind Szegedy. With such parity both in the series and the series races at Stafford, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will claim the checkered flag in the Town Fair Tire VMRS 80.

Prior to their sponsorship of this year’s Town Fair Tire VMRS 80, Town Fair Tire has been involved in a variety of events and advertising at Stafford. Town Fair Tire started out in 1999 as a PitStopper Magazine and Billboard advertiser, and since then they have stepped up their participation over the years as the title sponsor of the Town Fair Tire Summer Heat, the August NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event, Town Fair Tire Summer Blast-Off, and last season they were the sponsor of Town Fair Tire Military Appreciation Night.

“We’re happy to be returning as a sponsor to Stafford this year,” said Jim Uliano, V.P. of Marketing for Town Fair Tire. “We’ve been associated with Stafford Speedway for the past 15 years and we really enjoy being a part of the program there. Stafford Speedway has some of the most enthusiastic race fans that we come across, and it makes for a great night interacting with those folks at the Town Fair Tire trailer. Sponsoring an event at Stafford is a great way for us to be able to showcase not only the wide variety of tires that we have to offer, but also to showcase our rims and wheels. The crowds at Stafford are always excellent and we’re looking forward to another great night of racing and meeting and greeting all the great race fans at the trailer on the midway.”

Town Fair Tire has over 87 stores spread across New England with locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, meaning there's bound to be a Town Fair Tire near you.
