Stafford
Motor Speedway has announced that Lincoln Tech of
East Windsor will return as the title sponsor of the
track's Lincoln Tech 80 Valenti Modified Racing
Series race on July 18. The 2014 season will be the
fourth consecutive year that Lincoln Tech has
sponsored the VMRS event at Stafford, and the fifth
consecutive season that Lincoln Tech has been part
of the Stafford Speedway family of sponsors.
Lincoln Tech first teamed up with SMS in 2010 when
they signed on to be the title sponsor of the
track's 100-lap Late Model race. After the VMRS made
its Stafford debut in 2010, the track added a second
VMRS race for the 2011 season and Lincoln Tech
transferred their title sponsorship to that second
race.
"We're very pleased to be back again this season
with Stafford Motor Speedway," said Rob Wargo,
Eastern Connecticut High School Admissions Reps for
Lincoln Tech. "Throughout the years, we've been very
impressed with the hospitality we receive from the
track and we're looking forward to another great
season together. Sponsoring this race at Stafford
has been a great marketing campaign for us. Last
season we were able to enroll several students as a
direct result of our race sponsorship and we've
enrolled several students each season as a result of
us being involved with Stafford."
The winner of the Lincoln Tech 80 will once again be
in for a treat as they will receive one of the most
unique trophies in short track racing. Lincoln Tech
will present the race winner with a customized
airbrushed car hood for their winning efforts.
Lincoln Tech began their tradition of presenting an
airbrushed hood for the 2010 Late Model 100 which
was won by Woody Pitkat and they have continued the
tradition through their sponsorship of the VMRS.
"Our hoods have been big hits and we're going have
another airbrushed hood for this year's winner,"
said Wargo. "We'll have one of our instructors on
site and he will airbrush the hood during the night.
We like being able to do something different for the
trophy and we're going to give the fans a chance to
be able to watch the hood go from a blank hood to
the trophy that we will present."
The East Windsor Lincoln Tech location is hosting an
open house on Saturday, March 15 from 8:30am-12noon.
Lincoln Tech will have a scholarship test available
during the open house and anyone interested in
attending the open house can RSVP with Rob Wargo by
calling 860-627-4300.
