VALENTI
MODIFIED RACING SERIES
KICKS OFF HOLIDAY WEEKEND AT STAFFORD |
With
two race dates on the calendar in September, and two
remaining in October, the Valenti Modified Racing
Series kicks off this month
at the famed Stafford Springs Motor Speedway, Friday
night, September 2, the third and final appearance
in 2016.
Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Ted
Christopher, of Plainville, CT, has visited the
Stafford/VMRS winner’s circle this season.
As of Tuesday, close to 25 other drivers would like
to lay claim to a win at the Connecticut half-mile.
The VMRS 80-lap race will give them the opportunity.
The winner of last years race, Chris Pasteryak, of
Jewett City, CT, will return to Stafford, looking
for this third victory there. Pasteryak is fourth on
the all-time win list with 12 victories.
Five-time winner Jon McKennedy, of E. Chelmsford,
MA, enjoys a 114-point lead over Mike Willis Jr, of
Grantham, NH, entering Stafford. Only three points
separate Willis and Pasteryak in the fight for
second place.
Christopher won his fourth VMRS race in June at
Stafford. Two of those victories were at Stafford.
He will again drive the Brady Bunch # 00.
Woody Pitkat, a two-time series winner at Stafford,
is expected to compete as is Monadnock winner two
weeks ago, Todd Patnode, Swanzey, NH.
Keith Rocco, David Schneider, Richard Savary, Dave
Etheridge, and Donnie Lashua, are all expected.
Heat races begin at 6:15 PM.
